Grrr… I am literally gnashing my teeth!!! I can honestly say that has never happened before in my life! In a nutshell, we want to say sorry to everybody because we didn’t get back early this week as scheduled. Our flight was delayed and we had to stay over night in Salt Lake City. Moral of the story, DO NOT FLY with DELTA or CONTINENTAL.
Okay so I may be biased – if any of you want to stand up for them, please leave comments on our blog.
Okay so we were totally scheduled and on time to leave. 30 minutes before boarding, the infamous delayed announcement comes up. We still had to catch our connecting flight (which we could have still made). The Delta reps offered no apologies whatsoever, and continued to say. ‘that’s unfortunate’ or ‘well, in the meantime you can..’ Can you believe that? Whack! Strike 1
We found out that the stewardess.. oops… flight attendant was running late, therefore we had to delay the whole plane. During the flight I was just hoping that Delta would kindly ask our connecting flight to stay for another 5 minutes. Didn’t happen. We missed our connecting flight by 5 minutes. Strike 2
Delta offered us food vouchers (at this point it was about 10p.m.) and hotel accommodations. They gave us 2 vouchers, one for dinner and the other for breakfast. After getting to the hotel, we immediately looked for places to eat. Okay – this is what we found out, there is absolutely nothing to do on a Sunday night in Salt Lake city Utah. Everything closed at about 9. Can you believe that!? we had to eat gross chimichangas from the convenient store. Strike 3
Delta also noted that they wouldn’t re- reimburse me for loss of pay or the phone call I made for calling in a TOC, which was not at all my fault. It was totally Delta’s bad. Strike 4
Upon waiting for our next flight at 11:05 a.m. – guess what? Our flight got delayed again. Strike 5
Just waiting there by the departure gate we say, many disgruntled flyer’s from Delta, 4 flight delays, and 2 cancelled flights. How fun is that?! (not really a strike on me, but totally to Delta).
Lastly, after having such a hectic adventure, I just wanted to sleep all the way home on the flight… but my seat wouldn’t recline – Strike 6, 7, 8, and 9!!!
If you follow baseball – you know that we just got jacked with all the strikes. Here’s a tip, avoid Delta like a bad habit. We’ll post more positive stuff soon!
